Amidst all the speculations about the group disbanding and focusing on solo projects, it has finally been revealed that K-pop girl group BLACKPINK has decided to extend their contract with their label YG Entertainment, putting an end to all rumours. The management compađĽny officially announced on December 6, stating that they negotiated with all the four members and will conđ´tinue with group activities under their label.
In a statement, the label said "We are pleased to announce that our board of directors has successfully come to an agreement on the signing of exclusive group contracts for all four members of BLACKPINK, our talented artists." They further added âBLACKPINK will continue to do its best to shię§ ne more brightly in the world music market as an artist representing K-Pop, and we will continue to give their unwavering support and faith in their actions.â
Since BLACKPINK's earlier contract expired in August of this year, there were many speculations, which led to the rise of ruâmours about disbanding. However, behind the scenes, talks were undeđ¤Şrway with YG Entertainment. As of now, only group activities have been dealt with; individual contracts of the members are still in the talks. As per various K-media sources, it seems that some members want to focus on solo projects while still being in the group.
