67th Grammy Awards Will Proceed As Planned Despite Los Angeles Wildfires

In the wake of the Los Angeles wildfires, there have been numerous delays of several award shows and other events. But the 2025 Grammys✱ will take place as scheduled, confirmed Recording Academy CEO.

ꦜIn a statement, group CEO Harvey Mason Jr. confirmed that Grammys 2025 will take place on February 2 as planned. As reported by Rolling Stone, in the letter, Mason Jr. said, “In close coordination with local authorities to ensure public safety and responsible use of area resources, the 67th GRAMMY Awards telecast on CBS on February 2nd will proceed as planned.”

💯Mason Jr. also confirmed that this year the award ceremony will support the wildfire relief efforts. “This year’s show, however, will carry a renewed sense of purpose: raising additional funds to support wildfire relief efforts and honoring the bravery and dedication of first responders who risk their lives to protect ours,'' he said.

On January 11, the Recording Academy and MusiCares announced that they have launched the Los Angeles Fire Relief Effortꦇ, and are donating US$1million to “provide both immediate relief and long-term support to individuals and families in the music industry facing displacement and loss due to the disaster.”

🔯Universal Music Group has canceled all its Grammy-related events, including the Saturday artist showcase and the Sunday after-Grammy party. The music label will use the money for Los Angeles wildfire relief.

ওDue to the "catastophic" wildfires,  the Academy has also postponed the announcement of this year’s Oscar nominees two times. They will now announce the nominees' list on January 23. The ceremony will take place on March 3 as planned.

🍸The Critics Choice Awards 2025 have also been delayed. It has been postponed from January 12 to January 26.
