Tibet-Nepal Quake: 126 Dead, Several Injured In 6.8 Magnitude Earthquake

At least 126 people died while over 130 others sustained injuries as an earthquake of magnitude 6.8 struck Tibet in⛦ the early hours of Tuesday, according to state media CGTN. The epicentre of the earthquake, as pe💟r the United States Geological Survey was close to the Nepalese border.

As per theജ latest data, the Chinese state agency Xinhua has stated that 53 people have been killed and 6꧒2 have been injured due to the earthquake today.

The ear🧸thquake affected🅺 the neighbouring countries of India, Nepal, and Bangladesh with tremors and possible aftershocks.

As per reports, trem෴ors were felt in several parts of India such as the NCR region, Bihar, Assam and West Bengal.

As per the data released by tꦬhe National Centre for Seismology, the earthquake occurred at 6:35 AM in Xizang, Tibet, which is ver♔y close to the border with Nepal.

Tremors Felt In Indian States

The tremors of the Tibet-Nepal earthquake made their way to India. Aftershocks were felt in Delhi, West Bengal and Bihar. As per the Bihar Disaster Management Department, tremors were felt in Patna, Madhubani, Sheohar, Munger, Samastipur, Muzaffarpur, Katihar, Darbhanga, West Champar🍃an✨, East Champaran and several other districts along the India-Nepal border.

The tremors triggered panic among people in Patna with citizens rushing out of their resi💖dences as a precautionary measure.

Level 2 Emergency Declared In Tibet

Following the earthquake, the Chinese Eart🐬hquake Administration launched a level-II emergency service response and sent a work team to the site to assist with dis🀅aster relief efforts.

As per state agency Xinhua, around 22,000 disaster relief🌊 items, including cotton tents, cotton coats, quilts and folding beds, together with special relief materials for high-altitu⭕de and frigid areas, were dispatched. Over 1,500 local firefighters and rescue workers have also been dispatched to the ground.
