Anti-Trump Protests Take Over Washington DC Ahead Of Inauguration

Days before Donald Trump is sworn in as the President of the United States for a second term, thousands✃ of Americans rallied across Washington DC raising anti-Trump slogans.

Trump is set to take over as the 47th President of the 🥀United States on Monday - January 20, 2025. Trump sealed his second term after a landslide victory against Vice President Kamala Harris.

A collective of civil rights and social justice groups carried out a "People's March" on Saturday in protest against the policies promoted by Donald Trump and his administration.

The march also reminded the world of the 2017 march against Donald Trump, which took place right before his firs💟t term in offic🌠e.

A key focus of the protests remained on reproductive rights for women, especially the r🍸ight to abortion. Chants of 'My Body, My Choice' echoed across the US capital as thousands of♐ protestors called out Trump's hardline policies.

Trump's hard stance on immigration was also called out during the protest. "We really wan💖ted to come to support women, equality, immigration, everything that really feels like we don't have much of a say in right now," Brittany Martinez, one of the protesters, told USA TODAY.

Protestors also raised slogans against Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk, who will now serve as on🔯e of the heads of the Department of Government Efficiency.

Ahead of his inauguration, the president-elect vowed ܫto take swift action and deport millions of undocumented immigrants across the US. Trump added that this would be one of the first actions he takes over as the president.

The Republican leader's inauguration is set for January 20, 2ꦛ025. However, due to "bad weather", the ceremony is likely to be shifted indoors.
