꧃Under this executive order, Trump has planned to deport all the non-citizen college students who took part in the mass pro-Palestine protests last year.
ꦛAs per Reuters, a fact sheet on the order vows for "immediate action" to "prosecute "terroristic threats, arson, vandalism and violence against American Jews."
🦩The executive order also orders the use of all federal resources to combat that "the explosion of antisemitism on our campuses and streets" since Hamas' attack on Israel on October 7, 2023.
𝓡Echoing his vow in the 2024 election campaigning, Trump vowed to deport all non-American students who participated in the mass student movement.
ꦦ"To all the resident aliens who joined in the pro-jihadist protests, we put you on notice: come 2025, we will find you, and we will deport you," Trump said in the fact sheet.
ꦏ"I will also quickly cancel the student visas of all Hamas sympathizers on college campuses, which have been infested with radicalism like never before," the president added.
🔥Like the rest of his vows and executive orders, this one also borders on being "unconstitutional."
🔴Rights group and legal experts have stated that this new measure would be a direct violation of the right to free speech, which is guaranteed under the First Amendment.
✨The first amendment protests all Americans, including foreign citizens in the country and their right to free speech.
🔯"Deporting non-citizens on the basis of their political speech would be unconstitutional," Carrie DeCell, senior staff attorney at the Knight First Amendment Institute at Columbia University told Reuters.
