"We have no faith in current Canadian government's commitment to e🔜nsure security of Indian diplomats i꧂n Canada," said MEA.
"The Canadian Charge d'Affaires was summoned by Secretary (East) th🥂is evening. He was informed that the baseless targeting of the Indian High Commissioner and other diplomats and o💞fficials in Canada was completely unacceptable," the MEA said.
"It was underlined that 𝄹in an atmosphere of extremism and violence, the Trudeau government's actions endangered their safety. We have no faith in the current Canadiꦛan government's commitment to ensure their security," it said in a statement.

Addressing reporters on Monday evening, Canadian Chargé d'Affaires Stewart Wheeler stated that Canada is ready to cooperate with India on the꧟ matter.
He said, "Canada has provided credible, irrefutable evidence of ties between agents of the Government of India and the murder of a 🃏Canadian citizen on Canadian soil. Now, it is time for India to live up to what it said it would do and look into all those allegations. It is in the interest of both our countries and the p🌱eople of our countries to get to the bottom of this. Canada stands ready to cooperate with India."

The Canadian media on Monday quoted an unnamed senior official as saying that Ottawa has expelled six Indiꦬan diplomats, including the high ꧋commissioner, reporting the development around the same time when India announced the expulsion of six members of the Canadian high commission in Delhi.
The Globe and Mail daily quoted the Canadian official as saying that the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) ha𝓀ve evidence that the six diplomats were involved i𒈔n the alleged plot to murder Khalistani separatist Hardeep Singh Nijjar in June 2023.
Nijjar was gunned down in Sur🅘rey, Briti♛sh Columbia, in June last year.
The relations between India and C🅠anada came under severe strain following Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's allegations in September last year of a "potential" involvement of Indian agents in the killing of Nijjar.
New Delhi had rejected Trudeau's chargไes as "absurd".
