As per initial reports, a cy🙈linder blast is said to have caused the blast. Investigation is underway.
"Two cylinders exploded in Sector 19 of the Maha Kumbh Mela, causing a mass🦩ive fire in the camps. Fire fighters are trying to douse the blaze," Akhara Police Station In-charge Bhaskar Mishra told PTI.
The Maha Kumbh 2025 official X handle posted, "Very sad!📖 The fire incident at #MahꦅaKumbh has shocked everyone. The administration is ensuring immediate relief and rescue operations. We pray Maa Ganga for everyone's safety."
As per the official handle, the fiꦬre has now been brought under control.
Maha Kumbh 2025 kicked off on January 13, 2025 in ﷽Uttar Pradesh's Prayagraj. It is a 45 day spiritual gathering and is held once every 12 years. This year's meal is being conducted in Prayagraj after 144 years.
