Amid widespread clashes tha𝓡t erupted across states on the occasion of Ram Navami on Thursday, Mumbai police have apprehended more than 20 persons in connection with a clash between two groups in Malvani area, an official said on Friday.

Amid widespread clashes tha𝓡t erupted across states on the occasion of Ram Navami on Thursday, Mumbai police have apprehended more than 20 persons in connection with a clash between two groups in Malvani area, an official said on Friday.
The incident occurred on Thursday night at Malvan🐠i in suburban Malad (West) when the procession was going on and some people objected to high volume DJ and loud music accompanying it.
"The police have ꦓso far apprehende𓂃d more than 20 persons on the charge of rioting and the process to place them under arrest is on," the official said.
During the clash between the two groups, stones were hurled, which triggered panic in the🐓 area. Additional police force was called in and the police personnel used force to disperse the crowd, the official said.
Senior pol🅺ice officials and some local political leaders rushed to the spot and appealed for peace, he said.
After the incident, supporters of a right-wing organisation gathered outside the Mal🦂vani police station and demanded action against those who allegedly pelted stones.
A large number of police personnel were deployed in the area and the situation was brought under control, he ad🐻ded.

The fight involved stone pel𝐆ting and p𒀰hysical assault, sources said.
The incident took plac💫e in the Madiyav village un🦩der the Jankipuram police station area at 1.30 pm.
Police said an argument broke out between two groups after a man, i🔯dentified as Sumit, along with 10-15 other people, played music on a DJ while passing past a mosque, which was objected to by🔴 another group.
In the dispute, which reportedly lasted for about 10 minutes, both sides were allegedly involved in stone pelting, phꦫysical assault, and 🐼destruction of property. Amid the chaos, the DJ's cart was damaged, too.
On being informed, the Assistant Commissioner of Police and other police officials from the Jankipuram Police Station re✃ached the spot and nabbed the miscreants.
