In A24's upcoming horror film Talk ♈to Me, thrill-seeking teens get more than they bargained for from a party game gone wrong. By holding a dead hand and reciting a simple incantation, a group of teens explores the depths of realms beyond their comprehension and experiment with having their bodies taken over by random spirits. The game has rules, and when those boundaries are pushed things get horribly out of hand.
Talk To Me is the directorial debut of YouTubers Danny and Michael Philippou, who are known for their YouTube channel RackaRacka. Set in Australia and starring Sophie Wilde, Talk To Me features a group of young people who essentially get high on calling forth the spirits of the dead, taking them into their bodies to make viral videos. However, 𝄹if the spirits stay for more than 90 seconds or so, things start to go bad. Inevitably, this being a horror film, things most assuredly go bad, to tremendous effect. Talk to Me features strong performances from its cast, incredible editing that really brings the possession sequences to life, and sparing use of violence to make its brief and infrequent R-rated moments particularly brutal.
Filmmaking brothers Danny and Michael Philippou made Talk to Me their film debut. They have a popular YouTube channel under the name RakkaRakka, home to their live-action shorts, many of which fall in the horror genre. The movie got rave reviews when it screened at the 2023 Sundance Festival critics this year for𝕴 its originality and ghastliness. With its success at Sundance 2023, A24 picked the film up for distribution and slated the film for a summer release.

The movie is a breakout role for many of the cast members, however there are some faces you might find f🎃amiliar. Wilde, who plays Mia, has starred in PBS’s Tom Jones mini-series. Whilst, you may recognise Otis Dhanji who plays Daniel from his role as Young Arthur in Aquaman.
