Ahead of the pivotal game on March 9,🎉 Gambhir was asked about his future with Team 💝India in the post-match press-conference. However, Gambhir stated that his and the team's focus is on the final and will look matters at hand post that.

"I'm someone who tries to💦 stay, as much as I can,♍ in the present and at the moment, all I can say is that the entire focus is going to be on the game which is on the 9th.

"And then obviously there's aไ long-term vision, there's a long-term plan as well but at the moment, it's only the 9th but after the 9th we can sit down and plan," he added.

Gambhir also lauded the side for the effortless manner in which 𒈔it chased down a stiff 265-run target against the Aussies.

"I think it was very professional and the reason why I say that is because we had w༺ickets in hand and that was the plan because we know that obviously pitches here in the second half can actually get💮 a little slower.

"We actually planned the chase really well. If you see after 40 overs, we were o𓄧nly four down. We had two set batters in. So, we knew that the kind of quality we have, the kind of dept🐎h we had, we were always in control," he noted.

As per reports, Gambhir's future will depend on how Team India perform in the ongoing Champions Trophy. There were murmurs behind the scenes that some players and Gambhir aren't on the same page as𝓀 the lattꦐer wants to end the 'superstar' culture in the team.

Gambhir's tenure as head coach as seen India lose Test series at home to New Zealand followed by a series defeat to Australia in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. However, with the Men In Blue in the final, it seems that the BCCI head honchos might give the former India batter a longer run🐼 as the head coach.
