𝕴Vincent Kompany's side had already confirmed at least a play-off spot prior to the game, but other results did not go their way, meaning they finished in 12th.

ꦡBayern dominated at the start and their early pressure paid off after just eight minutes, Joshua Kimmich floating a cross into the box for the unmarked Thomas Muller to nod in.

🐲Needing a big win though, they failed to turn any more chances into goals before the break, having to wait until the 63rd minute for another breakthrough.

♊Harry Kane, who had come close in the first half, scored with another header. Jamal Musiala made an instant impact after coming off the bench, with his deflected cross falling to the Englishman.

𝓡Leroy Sane then hit the woodwork before Kingsley Coman sealed the win six minutes before the end, turning in the rebound off Serge Gnabry's saved strike.

🐻They would be denied a clean sheet late on though as already-relegated Slovan pulled one back through Marko Tolic right at the death.

Data Debrief: Home comforts

ꦆWhile Kompany will be happy with the win, it was not quite the result they would have been hoping for as they now face a two-legged play-off tie against either Celtic or Manchester City.

🌌This win did extend their unbeaten home streak in the Champions League though. They have not lost any of their last 34 matches in the competition at the Allianz Arena in the group/league stage - the longest-ever run in the competition's history.

🔯Bayern were determined to walk away with a win here as well. They had 35 shots - their highest total in the competition this season - with seven of those classed as 'big' chances. They also created 4.08 expected goals (xG) to Slovan's 1.08.
