After a 1-1 draw at Old Trafford and with the teams failing to be separated in extra-time, spot-kic🌜ks decided who would be the penultimate team to advance to the next round.

Bernd Leno proved to be Fulham's hero in the shoot-out, saving pe𓆏nalties from Victor Lindelof and Joshua Zirkzee as the Cottagers reached the quarter-finals for the second time in the last three seasons, as many times 💞as they managed between 2004-05 and 2021-22 (two).

Manchester City, meanwhile, face a tough test if they are to make the seꦆmi-finals after be𝓀ing handed a trip to in-form Bournemouth in the next round.

Pep Guardiola's side left it late to edge past giant-killing Plymouth Argyle 3-1, with youngster Nic💝o O'Reilly scoring twice before Kevin De Bruyne sealed the win late on Saturday.

Aston Villa will face Preston North End, the only Championship side remaining in 💦the competition, in what will be their first meeting since a 1-1 draw in the second tier back in December 2018.

Brighton will face either Nottingham Forest or Ips꧂wich Town in the final eight, with Nuno Espirito Santo's side welcoming the Tractoꦇr Boys to the City Ground on Monday.
