šÆEdwards, who has been capped by England up to under-20 level, came through Tottenham's academy before heading to Portugal to join Vitoria de Guimaraes in 2019.
š»He scored 10 goals in the Primera Liga across two seasons with Vitoria before moving to Sporting in a ā¬7.7million deal, going on to win a league title under Ruben Amorim last term.
āHowever, he has been limited to just six league appearances this season and has now been granted the opportunity to head out on loan, bolstering Burnley's bid for automatic promotion to the Premier League.
šEdwards said of the move: "It feels amazing. Burnley is like a Premier League club. I'm really happy to be here.
š"The main thing now is to get promoted back to the Premier League. Iām coming here to try and get myself into the team. I hope we can make it over the line this season and I hope Burnley fans will enjoy watching me play too."
šEdwards previously worked with Burnley boss Scott Parker when the former midfielder coached in Tottenham's academy.
š °Burnley are third in the Championship table following Saturday's goalless draw with Portsmouth, which saw them keep an eighth straight clean sheet. However, they have drawn five of their last seven matches 0-0, leading them to reinforce their attacking options.
