BTS' official page shared a video showcasing Jimin grooving to the song before its official announcement. The Instagram video began with Jimin dancing in his studio. After a few moves, there was a surprise appearance by fellow bandmate V, as they strolled in front of the studio mirror with their phone🍷 capturing the moment. Several messages (seemingly for ARMYs) covered the mirror -- "Don't worry, I'll catch you soon. I'll be back. I love you so much, don't get sick and stay happy."
Now on December 22, HYBE Labels dropped a music video for the 🤡song.
In the music video, seated among a team of writers, Jimin engages in discussions aboutꦛ the song's deep, heartfelt lyrics, emphasizing that he was “not parting ways forever." This potentially hints at Jimin referring to his bandmates with this line, who are also presently fulfilling their mandatory 18-month military service. Jimin further suggests that the song should effectively convey his affection for his fans.
The music video features various clips which are cherished moments of BTS members over several years, encompassing their debut performances to recent live shows, along with heartwarming interactions with ARMYs. 'Closer Than This' encapsulates various emotions, including euphoric celebrations and glimpses into intimate𝔉 moments shared among the septet. Through the song, the 'Like Crazy' singer seems to reassure ARMYs that whenever they need him, he'll be there.
