ꩲFrom his early years in India to his founding role at Fulcrum Tech, ’s career has been marked by pivotal moments and a passion for the advancement of technology. He has made many notable contributions in the field of automation technology, and his vision for the future of Large Language Models (LLMs) promises to transform how businesses operate.

💦Although he has had to overcome his fair share of challenges, Aparimeya is navigating the fast-paced world of Silicon Valley startups with relentless determination to make a significant impact.

Early Education, Awards, Interests, and the Beginnings of a Career

♊Growing up in India, attended St. Columba’s School of New Delhi, a highly acclaimed institution acknowledged by the Education Quality Foundation of India (EQFI), where he gained an early interest in technology and STEM studies. This inspired him to pursue classes that would lead to a career in engineering. He received the 2017 ISEF International Grand Award in his junior year of high school.

🤡During this period, Aparimeya founded an online designer and artist-focused brand, Humblef00ls, on Instagram, serving as a freelance graphic designer and web developer from 2017 to 2022. The summer before college, he also worked as a User Interface and User Experience (UI/UX) designer and full-stack developer intern for ESSI Integrated Technologies Pvt. Ltd.

An Education in Computer Science and AI Technology

꧋Aparimeya then got accepted to Duke University in the United States, where he worked hard to graduate early and earn a bachelor’s degree in computer science, preparing himself for a tech career and establishing the foundations for his work in automation and the emerging field of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology.

🐻At Duke, Aparimeya continued his graphic design and web development work but also collaborated with Duke’s creative services team and the Duke Innovative Design Agency itself. In this role, he applied his existing experience to several team-based collaborative projects with student organizations, furthering his expertise outside of computer science and AI technology. Aparimeya also served as an undergraduate teaching assistant at Duke for a semester.

꧂In addition to graphic design, UI/UX, LLMs, AI, and Machine Learning (ML), Aparimeya’s skill set includes digital art, psychology, game theory, tennis, and music. These additional interests enable him to apply various perspectives and approaches to a given problem, coming up with solutions that the average technologist may not consider.

Aparimeya’s Varied Career at DoorDash

ꦇAfter graduating, Aparimeya joined the door-to-door logistics and software development company DoorDash as a part of its new verticals organization’s search experience team. In this role, he worked to improve DoorDash’s horizontally scalable search engine, leading to a better experience across the company’s websites and apps. After a year in this role, Aparimeya moved to the new vertical organization’s ML team to work on an automation project for six months, followed by the catalog team for another six months.

Proposing LLM-Based Automation and Challenges Along the Way

🐽Aparimeya was the first team member at DoorDash to propose and prototype LLM-based automation in the company’s Stock-Keeping Unit (SKU) build and quality pipelines. Though he faced difficult bureaucratic challenges and pitfalls, he demonstrated persistence, relentlessly pitching the idea to every manager who would listen until this proposal was taken seriously.

💛“While at DoorDash,” Aparimeya recalls, “I saw the potential of LLMs to automate a lot of manual outsourced work on which we spent millions. After pushing very hard to build that and even working on a few MVPs (Minimum Viable Products), I was eventually asked to go back to work on normal projects. This made me realize that I want to work in an early-stage startup where I can have a very high impact and work on something related to AI.”

Entering the Startup Industry and Chasing Opportunity

𒈔With this realization, Aparimeya decided to leave DoorDash and enter the startup industry as a founding engineer at Paraform, a recruitment platform used by several software development, defense, and financial services companies. While he only worked at the company for a few months, Amarimeya found that he had far more freedom to work on impactful projects in the world of startups and was eager to join the next difference-maker on his journey.

Leadership and Innovation at Fulcrum Tech

♋Aparimeya is a founding engineer at , a company that focuses on providing insurance agencies and brokers with AI tools to handle business growth. In this role, he works to automate manual processes that these agencies and brokers currently do in-house or through outsourcing in an effort to save them time and money. Fulcrum Tech reduces the hours of copy-pasting and data analysis involved in manual insurance processes to just 3–4 minutes, partly through Aparimeya’s contributions.

🔯A quote from Heffernan Insurance Brokers on Fulcrum Tech’s website states that they “reviewed several Al solutions, and Fulcrum clearly stood out as the best. Fulcrum saves [their] AMs (Account Managers) 6–8+ hours a week, allowing them to handle 10–20% bigger books of business without adding headcount.”

Addressing Failures of the Insurance Workflow With AI

༒In their current state, insurance workflows involve proposal creation, policy checking, coverage comparisons, and elaborate data analysis done by hand. Aparimeya has constructed automation systems for these processes to transform workflows and reduce costs. Fully utilizing Fulcrum’s team of offshore engineers, he has led projects to improve insurance work experience for both agencies and brokers. By staying true to his vision for the future of AI automation, Aparimeya has established himself as a leader and innovator in the space.

The Ultimate Goal: Automating Tedious Labor

🌌Put simply, Aparimeya’s ultimate goal is to take away the tedious work humans must do. With the rise of automation, LLMs, ML, and AI technology, businesses stand to become more efficient while alleviating stress and boredom from manual labor. As efficiency and automation become more effective, Aparimeya hopes that humans will be free to focus on more valuable and creative tasks. To drive this adoption requires the solutions to be seamless to use such that even an industry as old school as Insurance brokers switches to this new paradigm. Such a future requires individuals with expertise in automation and UI/UX, as well as startups with the vision and drive to create models that will facilitate real change.

A Vision for the Future and a Message of Opportunity

🌞Aparimeya’s story has not been without challenges, but his persistence and dedication to the advancement of technology have led him to become a leader and innovator in his field. His deep knowledge of AI and ML has enabled him to create startups that make a genuine difference across various sectors and specialties, and there is only room to grow and improve.

ಞFor aspiring technologists in India, Aparimeya’s path serves as both an inspiration and a roadmap. Startups and AI are fields rich with opportunities for those who, like Aparimeya, possess the tenacity and drive to make a difference.

🐟His journey isn’t just one to watch—it’s a call to action for the next generation of innovators.
