After Aam Aadmi Party announced Rajya Sabha Sanjeev Arora would be contesting for the Ludhiana West by poll, speculation of Arvind Kejriwal joining the upper house began to spread. However, AAP has ༒dismissed this s💫peculation.
As per media reports, AAP spokesperson Priyanka Kakkar dismissed the rumours and stated that Kejriw🐬al has no such plan. She added that the party will be focusing on the by polls in Punjab for the time being.
"Kejriwal is not gꦑoing to Rajya Sabha. As far as Arvind Kejriwal is concerned, media sources were earlier saying that he will become the chief minisꦺter of Punjab," she was quoted as saying by The Times Of India.
However, the party ha🌠s now clarified that it would be making no such decision.
Speaking to India Today, AAP's Neel Garg also turned down the speculation that Kejriwal will be taking up the Rajya Sabha seat.
"Sanjeev Arora has been given a ticket for the Ludhiana West bypoll considering his good work. Speculations that Kejriwal will go to Rajya Sabha are untrue and out of the BJP factory. We will first focus on the bypoll and then Rajya Sabha. Congress and tꩲhe Opposition are spreading rumours. I turn down the theory regarding Kejriwal as rumours," Garg was quoted as saying by India Today.
AAP ꦑis now trying to strengthen its hold in Punjab after its devasting loss in🉐 the Delhi Assembly elections.
AAP, which has been in power in the national capital for the past 10 years, faced a major loss against the BJP. The Bharatiya Janata Party replicated its Lok Sabha victory and won 48 seats in the assembly pol♉ls, l💮eaving the Kejriwal-led AAP with 22 seats.
