The man arrested in murder case of Haryana Congress worker Himani Narwal confesses his crime to the police on Monday and they revealed that the accus෴ed had strangled her to death before packing her body in a suitcase.
A CCTV footage , dated February 28, 2025 has been 🍌verified by t🧜he police that shows accused Sachin carrying the black suitcase with the body stuffed in it, through a street near Narwal's residence where she was killed.
Himani Narwal's body was found stuffed in a suitcase in Rohtak on Saturday and soon a special inveওstigation team (SIT) was formed to probe the murder.
Additional DGP K K Rao who is handling the case informed the media on Monday morning that said the accused, Sachin, who h꧑ails from Jhajjar district, where he runs a mobile phone shop, was arrested in Delhi.
Rohtak Congress Worker's Death: Accused Confesses Crime
A Times Of India ౠreport said that Sachin has confessed that he strangled Narwal.♍ The police have confirmed that the murder weapon was a phone charging cable on February 27 at her residence in the Vijay Nagar area of Rohtak.
He then packed the body in a suitcase and dumped it in Sampla bu🌠s stand soon aftꦛer.
Not just that the accused also looted Narwal's home and took a laptop, jewellery, and other items and ꦰkept it in his shop. The accused may have also taken the jewellery that Narwal was wearing at the time of death as the police reportedly found a memo linked to jewellery sale.
A CCTV foota🦩ge of Sachin carrying a suitcase was captured on February 28 at around 10 pm near Narwal's residence.
The two knew each other for more than a year and the𝔉 police reportedly believe that a financial dispute between Sachin and Narwal led to the murder but it is not confirmed yet.
The police also told TOI that there were scratches and b🐻ite marks on accused's hands.
Police suggested that the moti🐎ve behind the murder might be related to a dispute between Sachin and Himani, possibly involving fin﷽ancial matters, although this is yet to be confirmed.
Rao told PTI, "The woman used to live alone in Vijay Nagar. On F🌊ebruary 27, the accused visited her home, and they had a heated argument."
According to Rao, the same night, he returned to her home, stuffed her body in a black suitcase and got into an auto-rickshaw with the bag, as well as a quiไlt that had blood st🍎ains on it.
He got down near Sampla bus stand to waylay the inv❀estigation, Rao said. Once the auto-rickshaw left, he dumped the suitcase and left.
he officer said the auto-rickshaw🏅 driver had no inkling that the passenger was carrying a body in the suitcase.
"There was no talk of marriage between the two as the accused is a❀lready married … but they were friends," he said.
Sachin was produced before a court in Rohtak o🌸n Monday and was sent to a three-day police remand.
What Did Family Allege?
Himani's family ha🔯d refused to cremate her body until the culprit was arrested, with her mother, Savita, demanding capital punishment for the guilty.
"I want capital punish﷽ment for the killers of my daughter," Savita told PTI V💎ideos in Rohtak on Monday.
He𒊎r mother also alleged that some of her colleagues🙈 envied her swift rise in the party.
"I spoke to her last on February 27. She said she would be busy with a party programme the next day, but latꦑer her phone was found switched off … Till the time my daughter dﷺoes not get justice, we won't cremate her," Savita said.
Himani's last rites were held Monday evening.
Some Congress members told PTI that Himani was a dedicated party worker and also took part in the Rahul Gandhi-led Bharat Jodo𝓀 Yatra. Former chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Sunday said he spoke to the Rohtak superintendent of police regarding the investigation in the murder case.
