India is marking its 76th Republic Day🌺 today, and Google is celebrating the occasion with a vibrant doodle featuring elements from the Republic Day parade. Designed by Pune-based artist Rohan Dahotre, the doodle highlights this historic day, emphasizing the importance of cultural representation and unity. The artwork features various animals, each symbolizing different regions of India, representing the country’s diverse landscapes, cultures, and rich wildlife heritage.
"This Doodle celebrates India's 76th Republic Day, a day of national pride and unity. On January 26, 1950, India adopted its Constitution and became a republic," Google𒀰 explained, shedding light on the significance of the day. The doodle, which includes depictions of animals in the Republic Day parade, reflects India’s regional diversity. "The animals featured in the artwork represent different parts of India," Google added.
ꦚAdditionally, Google highlighted the grandeur of Republic Day celebrations: "The annual Republic Day Parade, which spans several kilometers from Kartavya Path to India Gate, is a major event. It features colorful floats, cultural performances from all over the country, and impressive marches and formations by India’s armed forces."
🌠This year’s celebrations are under the theme of 'Swarnim Bharat –Virasat aur Vikas’ (Golden India: Legacy and Progress) which highlights India’s rich cultural legacy and hopes for a brighter future. This year, the grand parade will be attended by the Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto as the chief guest. The celebrations begin with the iconic parade at Kartavya Path set to lead the celebrations. The parade commences with PM Modi's visit to the National War Memorial.
