൩One person was charred to death in a massive fire that broke out at a restaurant in Kamathipura area of Maharashtra's Mumbai on Thursday. Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) said that the lever-4 fire broke out at the restaurant in Kamathipura, Grant Road, at 2 am.

💃A total of 16 fire engines and two lines from a high-rise building were in operation to douse the flames, due to which a nearby mall and a high-rise building were also vacated.

♛One unknown male person's charred body was found in the bathroom at said premises, BMC said, adding that enquiry about any other injured or missing person was in progress.

😼In another incident, a 45-year-old woman was killed after a fire erupted in the basement of a six-storey commercial building in Mumbai’s Santacruz area on Thursday. The blaze was doused at 8:45 pm, about an hour after it was covered from all sides, fire brigade officials said later in the evening.

🐎Quoting witnesses, a civic official said two women were trapped in the building, Dheeraj Heritage, on SV Road near Milan Subway in the western suburb when the fire broke out around 5 pm. Initially, officials had said that no one was injured and that the building was a five-storey structure. Later, they said it has six floors.

🐭According to an official from the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), one woman was rescued from the building and rushed to the civic-run Cooper Hospital. "The woman, identified as Tara Chiman Waghela, was declared dead on arrival by doctors there," he said.
