Ram Navami Clashes: More Than 20 Arrested In Mumbai; Clash Breaks Between 2 Groups In Lucknow

Violence broke out across different states following clashes during the Ram Navami c♕elebration on Thursday. During the clash between the two groups, stones were hurled and spats also involved physical assault.

Amid widespread clashes that erupted across states on the occasion of Ram Navami on Thursday, Mumbai police have apprehended more than 20 persons in connection with a clash between two groups in M🍰alvani area, an official said on Friday. 

The incident occurred on Thursday night at Malvani in suburban Malad (West) when the procession was ♊going on and some people objected to high volume DJ and loud music accompanying it. 

"The police have so far apprehended more than 🎐20 persons on the charge of rioting and the process to place them under arrest i🍒s on," the official said. 

During the clash between𓃲 the two groups, stones were hurled, which triggered panic in the area. Aඣdditional police force was called in and the police personnel used force to disperse the crowd, the official said. 

Senior police officials and some local political l♓eaders🎶 rushed to the spot and appealed for peace, he said.

After the incident, supporters of♏ a right-wing organisation gathered outside the Malvani police station and demanded action against those who allegedly pelted stones.

A large number of police pers⭕onnel 🍸were deployed in the area and the situation was brought under control, he added.

Lucknow

A clash also erupted between two groups following a spat duriꦇng a Ram Navami Shobha Yatra that was taken out near Shahi Masji꧙d in a village in Uttar Pradesh’s Lucknow on Thursday

The fight involved stone pelting and pꩲhꦡysical assault, sources said.

The incident took place in the Madiyav village under the Jankipuram police station a❀rea at 1.30 pm.

Police said an argument broke out between two groups after a man, identified as Sumit, along with 10-15 other people, played music on a DJ wh📖ile passing past a mosque, which was objected to by another group.

In the dispute, which reportedly lasted for about 🌜10 minutes, ♓both sides were allegedly involved in stone pelting, physical assault, and destruction of property. Amid the chaos, the DJ's cart was damaged, too.

On being informed, the Assistant Commissioner of Police and other police officials from t🔯he Jankipuram Police Station reached the spot and nabbed the miscreants.
