Saif Ali Khan Attacker Confesses To Stabbing Actor In Botched Robbery

The man accused of stabbing the Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan was arrested by Mumbai Police e൲arly Sunday. The attacker has b൲een identified as a 30-year-old waiter Vijay Das. 

According to the news agency ANI, the attacker has confessed to the staꦚbbing of Saif Ali Khan. 

The police said that the man had changed his name,ꦆ Shariful Islam Shehzad Mohammad Rohilla Amin Fakir, to Bijoy Das after entering India. He was using multiple na♑mes including Vijay Das, Bijoy Das, and Mohammed Iliyas.

According to PTI, preliminary ᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚinvestigation suggests that the man was unaware that he had entered a Bollywood star's house and his intention was theft, a senior police official told reporters.

The accused originally hails from Jhalokati in Bangladesh, and had been residing in Mumbai for more than five months under the alias “Bijoy Das,” PTI reported. He had been working as a waiter at a local restauraꦍnt and had used forged documents to enter India illegally. 

The attacker was arrested from Hiranan🥀dani Est🙈ate in Thane after an intensive search.

The police have registered a case against the accused under section🐼s 311 (robbery or dacoity with the intent to cause grievous hurt or death, 331(4) (house-breaking) and other relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita and Passport Act, 1967, the official said.

On Thursday at around 2:30 AM, he reportedly broke into Khan’s 12th-floor apartment in the ‘Satguru Sharan’ building. During the attack, the actor was repeatedly stabbed with a knife. Despite the violent assault, Khan, 54, managed to survive and was rushed to Lila𓂃vati Hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery. Doctors have confirmed that Khan is now in stable condition and may be discharged soon.
