On Monday, the district administration of Shivamogga in Karnataka en🍌forced Section 144 in the Ragi Gudda area of the town following clashes that occurred between two communities o♒n Sunday evening. A total of five individuals were reportedly injured during a stone-throwing incident in Ragi Gudda.
Acc♔ording to media reports, a group of troublemakers hurled stones at several residences and vehicles in response to rumors regarding the incident that occurred during the Eid Milad procession. On Sunday 🔯evening, the Shivamogga Police used baton charges to disperse the crowd. The imposition of Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) serves as a precautionary measure to prevent any further conflicts in the town.
Speaking to news agency ANI, Shivamogga SP Mithun Kumar said, "There was a stone pelting incident in Ragigudda last evening. However, we managed to disperse the crowd and the situation is under control now. Around four to five people sust꧂ained minor injuries. Section 144 is in force in Ragi Gudda to prevent any untoward incident." (As reported by Hindustan Times)
The police issued a warning to residents, urging them to avoid spreading unverified rumors on social media platforms. They emphasized that strict measures would be taken against individuals found disseminating unconfirmed info🤡rmation through messaওging platforms.
