🗹As the rescue operations for the Telangana SLBC tunnel collapse enter its eighth day, rescue teams have made a breakthrough. As per state Excise Minister Jupally Krishna Rao, the whereabouts of four of the trapped workers has been located. A total of eight workers were trapped after the roof of the Srisailam Left Bank Canal (SLBC) tunnel collapsed on February 22.
🍬Speaking with reporters, Krishna Rao stated that the location of four workers had been found through radar. By Sunday evening, officials are hopeful they would be able to make more progress and wrap up the operation.
ജ“The scanning of the debris using modern technology revealed the presence of four people trapped under the debris at a depth of 5-8 metres closer to the tunnel boring machine (TBM). Another four persons are believed to be on the opposite side of the machine,” Rao told reporters.
𝓡After locating the four workers, the state minister added that manual dredging is being carried out.
💙However, when asked about the chances of survival of the four located workers, the minister reiterated his previous statements and said that the margin remains bleak.
