India Vs Nepal Highlights, U-19 Women's T20 Asia Cup: IND-W's Victory Charge Halted As Match Called Off Due To Rain

Though Pakistan are already out of contention and both India and Nepal have qualified for the Super Four stage, the team ♊that wins today will end as the Group A topper and could face a more favourable pathway to the final. Nandhana has the ball in hand for India, and Sana Praveen and Sabitri Dhami opening for Nepal. Th♐e rain-delayed game gets off to an eventful start, as there is a wide and four singles in the 💧first over.

India seamer Anandita Kishor dismisses Nepal opener Sabitri Dhami in the second over - Dhami holes out to G Trisha at mid off. In walks captain Puja Mahato, and starts off in fine fashion. She has str🐼uck three fours in a 17-ball 16 so far, and has ensured her side does not lose any more wickets in the powerplay.

The run-flow has slowed down to a trickle, as the Indian spinners are bowling tight lines and lengths. And the stranglehold result🅠s in a wicket, as Sana Parveen falls to Parunika Sisodia's guile. Sana laboured on for nine runs off 33 balls before walking back to the dugout. All those dot balls could go on to hurt Nepal.

Sony Pakhrin is the new batter after Sana Parveen's dismissal and is also finding it hard to force the pace. Which is why, captain Puja Mahato has taken matters in her own hands and is going for the big ones. Current run rate still hovering around 🅘four, and a total below 100 is unlikely to trouble the Indians.

The quest for quick runs has led to a flurry of Nepal middle-order wickets. The score has gone from 60 for two to 82 for s♔even, with Parunika Sisodia claiming three of those scalps.

Parunika ends up with four wickets, conceding🐭 just 12 runs off her four overs in a splendid spell of left-arm spin bowling. India take a wicket off the last ball of the innings too, and limit Nepal to just 94 runs in their 20 overs.

India begin their chase on a rampaging no🦂te, scoring 12 runs off the first over. Openers G Trisha and G Kamilini were taking the attack to Nepal and clattered 28 runs without loss in 3.1 overs, before rain and thunderstorm halted play. Remember, five overs are needed to be played for it to constitute a completed T20 match. India will thus wait anxiously for the dark cloud𝓀s to clear, as they seem primed for victory.

It is still pouring down at the Bayuemas Cricket Oval in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and that prompts the umpires to call off the match. India thus do not get the chance to resume and possibly complete theirඣ run chase, but they stay on top of the table due to a superior net run rate than Nepal, and end the league phase as Group A toppers. Both teams had already qualified for the Super Four stage.

India will next take o🎃n Bangl♎adesh on December 19 at 7am IST, while Nepal will meet Sri Lanka (December 19, 11:30am IST) first up in the Super Fours. That will be followed by India facing Sri Lanka and Nepal locking horns with Bangladesh, both on December 20. The top two teams in the Super Four stage will qualify for the final on December 22.
