Pakistan opted to bat but quickly fell to 46/4 after Jayden Seales claimed a three-wicket haul. However, Mohammad Rizwan and Saud Shakeel steadied the innings with an unbeaten 97-run partnership, both scoring fifties. Despite the challenging spin-friendly pitch, the duo countered with aggressive shot-making, including effective sweeps, and Rizwan played well down the ground. They reached 143/4 (41.3) at stumps.
