Earlier, Australia swept the preceding ODIs, winning all three ma✃tches rather comfortably. In the Women's Ashes 2025 opener, the hosts thrashed England by four wickets at North Sydney Oval, Sydney. It was followed 🍃by wins at Junction Oval, Melbourne by 21 runs, and Bellerive Oval, Hobart by 86 runs.

Before the one-off Test at Melbourne Cricket Ground, Melbourne starting January 30, they will play two more T2Is, 💯on January 23 (Canberra) andܫ January 25 (Adelaide).

First played in 1931, the Women's Ashes used to be an 🙈exclusively Test affair, just like the men's tours between the two traditional rivals. But in 2013, with Australia's tour of England, it became multi-format, incorporating all three formats to decide the winners, on points -- four for a Test win, and two points for a draw; two points for a win in the limited-overs matches.

The last edition in England ended with the two teams on eight points each, but Australia, the victors in the previous two edition🐻s, retained the trophy.
