Ipswich Town Vs Crystal Palace, Premier League: Jean-Philippe Mateta Scores Winner

♑Jean-Philippe Mateta scored a stunning winner as Crystal Palace achieved their first Premier League away victory of the season, defeating Ipswich Town at Portman Road. The match was tied at nine points for both teams at kick-off, but Mateta’s goal in the 59th minute changed the game. After a flick-on from his own half, he charged forward, dribbled past Jacob Greaves, and chipped the ball over Arijanet Muric from a difficult angle. Before the goal, both teams struggled to create chances. A notable moment was Palace captain Marc Guehi writing a religious message on his rainbow armband for the second straight game, despite Football Association guidance. These armbands are part of the Rainbow Laces campaign by Stonewall, promoting LGBTQ+ inclusion in sports. Ipswich captain Sam Morsy did not wear the rainbow armband, citing his religious beliefs.
