♉A joint media release from the two bodies stated that IGET is aimed at providing customised, professional and accessible Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) services for stakeholders in gaming and esports. The release added that IGET's platform addresses the broad scope of disputes that arise in these fast-evolving sectors, ranging from anti-doping violations and player disciplinary matters to intellectual property (IP) conflicts and contractual disagreements.

𒅌Further, a panel of arbitrators and mediators with a deep understanding of the industries’ nuances and challenges will ensure swift resolution of disputes across the globe, regardless of jurisdiction.

💫With the establishment of IGET, ESIC will transition the functions of its Independent Appeals Panel to IGET, making the latter the exclusive jurisdiction for all ESIC appeals. Apart from the tribunal, a number of public webinar information sessions will soon be made available.

𝐆The webinars will inform stakeholders about IGET’s dispute resolution offerings, the steps involved in bringing a matter to the tribunal as well as how to incorporate the IGET model clause into agreements. Moreover, attendees will be able to ask questions directly from IGET representatives. Further information on the webinars will be published on the tribunal’s website.

ꦯ“The launch of IGET is a significant and important milestone for the global video games and esports industries,” said ESIC’s CEO, Stephen Hanna. “By combining ESIC’s expertise in maintaining integrity with WIPO’s authority in intellectual property dispute resolution, this initiative will ensure that disputes are handled professionally and swiftly, maintaining the integrity that underpins these industries’ growth and credibility,” Hanna added.
