United States President Donald Trump on Friday had a phone conversation with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin 🥂as he called it "productive discussions" on ending the war in Ukraine.

Trump elaborating about the 🔯conv♍ersation on social media said that he urged Putin to spare the lives of Ukrainian troops who were "completely surrounded".

Trump b🦩el🎉ieves that there is "very good chance" that the war will end soon.

This conversation comes a day after Putin agreed in principl🌌e with a US proposal for a 30-day ceasefire in Ukraine while💎 mentioning that there are conditions to be worked out.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is not very hopeful of Pu💛tin's react🐎ion to the ceasefire proposal as he claimed that the Russian President is afraid of telling Trump that he "wants to continue this war, that he wants to kill Ukrainians."

In a post on Truth Social൩, Trump wrote, "We had very good and productive discussions with President Vladimir Putin of Russia yesterday, and there is a very good chance that this horrible, bloody war can finally come to an end."

Further Trum😼p mentioned that the Ukrainian troops are in a vulnerable position and could lead to a 'horrible massacre' if Putin doesn't spare their lives.

"But, at this very moment, thousands of Ukrainian troops are completely surrꦗounded by the Russ🌠ian military, and in a very bad and vulnerable position. I have strongly requested to President Putin that their lives be spared. This would be a horrible massacre, one not seen since World War II. God bless them all!!!," the US President wrote.

Putin Agrees US Proposal For 30-Day Ceasefire

Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Thursday that he agrees in principle with a US proposal for a 30-day ceasefire in Ukraine, but he emphasized that the terms are yet to be worked out and added that any truce should pave the way to lastওing peace.

“The idea itself is corrﷺect, and we certainly support it," Putin told a news conference in Moscow.

“But there are issues that we need to discuss, and I think that we ne🍌ed to talk about it with our American colleagues and partners and, perhaps, have a call with President Trump and discuss it with him."

President Donald Trump had earlier said that there have been “good signals” coming out of Russia and offered guarded optimism ab🍒out Putin's statement. He re𝔉iterated that he's ready to speak with Putin and underscored that it was time to end the war.

Trump stated, "Putin put out a very promising statement, but it 𒅌wasn't co🍌mplete”, at a start of a meeting at the White House with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte. “Now we're going to see whether or not Russia's there. And if they're not, it'll be a very disappointing moment for the world,” he added.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is not very hopeful of Putin's reaction to the ceasefire proposal by US as he♛ claimed that the Russian President is “essentially preparing to reject” the ceasefire.

Zeleneskyy also said, "Putin is afraid to tell President Trump directly that he wants to continue this war𓃲, that he wants to kill Ukr𒐪ainians."

"That is why, in Moscow, they are surroundinꦚg the idea of a ceasefire with such preconditions that nothing will come of it — or at least, it will be delayed as long as possible," he added.
