Donald Trump’s ♚return to power has conjured up a storm, with his inauguration-day execut🧸ive orders sending shockwaves across the nation.

These orders, from cracking down on immigration to rolling back transgender rights and withdrawing from the Paris Climate Agreement have sparked debate 🌊and raised serious questions about their constitutionality.

Among his most controversial moves is an executive order aiming to end birthright citizenship for illegal immigrants and those on temporary visa, a right enshrined in the 14th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. The long-standing interpretation of the 14th Amendment ensures that nearly everyone born in the United States is automatically granted citizens🃏hip.

A federal judge, John Coughenour, temporarily blocked Trump’s birthright citizenship order, calling it "blatantly unconstitutional" during a brief ﷽hearing.

Although Trump’s right-wing leaning was always known, his aggressive approach🐼—signing over a hundred executive orders within hours of being sworn in—has reminded the world of his capacity. Critics argue that these actions threaten the sa🎃fety and rights of countless people. By targeting marginalised groups, Trump’s administration has set a tone of exclusion and division.

In Outlook’s November 2024 issue, titled Whitewash and published ahead of the U.S. election results, several stories explored thཧe rising influence and dominance of Donald Trump.

Columnist Aisha Sultan, delved into how Donald Trump, despite being a misogynist, re♊peat sex offender, and rape accused, continues to grow in power. He was the only presidential candidate in U.S. history with a public record of sexual violence upheld by a court judgment.

Journalist Mohammad Ali focused on the growing national sentiment against immigration. The sentiment was mirrored by Kamala Harris’ changed stance, from once being a champion of immigrants’ rights to campaigning against them. The sentiment has also been mi🅷rrored by Trump’s recent orders.&nb♍sp;

The next magazine issue, titled Cry Freedom, publish🦋ed after the election results were announced, featured several stories exploring what Trump’s America could potentially look like🧸.

Seema Guha explored the uncertainty surrounding Donald Trump’s next move, given h🔯is u𝕴npredictable nature.

Political studies academic Amir Ali warned of the alarming implications of Donald Trump’s v𓆉ictory. The story argued that the rise of a misogynistic, foul-mouthed, and convicted felon to the presidency exposed 𒁃a deep rot within not just American democracy, but liberal democracy worldwide. Ali noted that Trump’s win could well mark the b🐠eginning of the end for democracy in the United States of America.
