Delhi Chief Minister Atishi on Tuesday alleged that the BJP-led Central governm👍ent cancelled the allotment of the Chief Minister's residence on 6 Flag Staff Road for 🍌the second time in three months.
The chief minister🍒 further claimed that she received the eviction letter from the Central government on Monday, a day before the Election Commission announced the dates for the Delhi Assembly elections.
In th🅘e eviction letter, Atishi was asked to choose from two bungalows - Bungalow No. 2 at 8 Raj Niwas Lane, Civil Lines and bungalow No. 115 at Ansari Road, Daryaganj.
Accusing the BJP of𝄹 targeting her family, Atishi said at a press conference, "When I became the Chief Minister, the BJP threw my belongings on the ro♕ad...They can snatch our houses, stop our work but cannot stop our passion for working for the people of Delhi. An official residence does not matter to me. I will work for the people of Delhi from the streets. If needed, I will come and stay at the homes of the people of Delhi and keep working for the people of Delhi.
Back in October, chief minister's official residence at 6, Flagstaff Road i🅘n Civil Lines, which was then occupied by Delhi Chief Minister Atishi, was forcibly vacated a🃏t the behest of the BJP as Lt Governor V K Saxena wanted to allot it to a saffron party leader.
According to the official statement, the belongings of Delhi Chief Minister Atishi were also removed from t💫he residence, which was earlier occupied by her predecessor Arvind Kejriwal.
"For the🐻 first time in the history of the ꦕcountry, the Chief Minister's residence was vacated. At the behest of the BJP, the Lt Governor forcibly removed Chief Minister Atishi's belongings from the Chief Minister residence," the Chief Minister Office or CMO alleged.
The official statement, as per reports, also highlighted that there was plan to allot the bungalow to some important BJP leader, it claimed. Earlier in the day, AAP MP Sanjay Singh said that officers were not allotting the bung𒁏alow to CM 𝐆Atishi and her camp office there was also vacated.
'Atishi making false claim': BJP
Responding to Atishi's claims, the BJP on Tuesday said that t🥀he Delhi CM was making false claim that her official residence was snatched away and said the allotment of 6, Flagstaff Road, house was withdrawn for two “key rꦓeasons”, which included her “failure” to take its possession within the required time-frame.
BJꦦP's IT department head Amitﷺ Malviya said there are “no takers for her lies”.
“The allotment of ‘Sheesh Mahal’ has been withdrawn, as we learn, for two key re🐟asons: first her failure to take possession and second CBI/ED investigation,” he said i💯n a post on X.
Citing the reasons for withdrawal of the allotment, Malviyaᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚ said, “Atishi was required to take possession of the house (CM’s official residence) within a week of allotment but failed to do so even after three months, in violation of rules.”
“The Sheesh Mahal is under scrutiny by the CBI/ED, with a CAG report confirming corruption in its construction. When the house was allotted, one of the conditions was ൩that Atishi must coo𒈔perate with the investigations. However, she deliberately avoided taking possession, leaving the house locked and obstructing the investigating agencies,” he said.
