Aamir Khan, who announced his next project Sitaare Zameen Par last year, has now confirmed that the film is postponed. Apart from producing the film, Aamir Khan will also star in it. Earlier, the superstar had said that he is planning to release his film this year on Christmas but now he has shared that Sitaare Zameen Par will release in the middle of 2025.
Aamir, speaking to Deadline at the Red Sea Film Festival in Jeddah, said, “We are coming to😼 the post-production later this month. We would be ready to release the film in the middle of next year.”
Khan also said that Sitaare Zameen Par is a sequel to his 2007 film Taare Zameen Par. However, he clarified that the film wouldn’t have the same characters. “It’s a fresh set of characters, completely fresh situation and plot. Thematically, it is a sequel to Taare Zameen Par,” he added.
Sitaare Zameen Par also stars Genelia Deshmukh. It marks her first collaboration with Aamir Khan.
Earlier, at a promotional event for Laapataa Ladies, Khan said that his film is “the next level of Taare Zameen Par, it is like part 2".
He also said, “The theme is the same but the difference is, unlike Taare Zameen Par, which left you with tears, Sitaare Zameen Par will leave in laughter. Prasanna is directing it and it is an entertaining film. We are looking at the same to🧔pic but with a different perspective''.
