Trump's confirmation came days after reports claimed that the US was planning 🍌to impose potential sanctions on Russia. Reuters on March 4 reported that the White House had asked the State and Treasury departments to draft a list of sanctions that could be eased for US officials to discuss with Russian representatives in the coming days.
US In Talks With Ukraine Over Peace Deal
As per a report by India Today, Trump's special envoy, Steve Witkoff co🦹nfirmed that discussions with Ukraine for a peace agreement framewor♛k are underway. It has also been reported that a meeting is planned next week with the Ukrainians in Saudi Arabia.
"We're now in discussions to coordinate a meeting with the Ukrainians," Witkoff was quoted as saying by Reuters at the Wཧhite House.
The development comes within days after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's United States visit ended on an unexpected note after his meeting with Trump led to a verbal spat in front of world media and instead of being a potential step for ending the ongoing war with Russia, the meeting seems to push US security backing farther💜 ꦆaway in future.
