🎉Dawson, from North Manchester, Indiana, had reportedly been struggling with suicidal thoughts before traveling to Washington, D.C. Authorities believe he may have been attempting suicide by cop.

💦The shooting occurred near the Eisenhower Executive Office Building, where agents responded to an alert and encountered Dawson. According to the New York Times, the Secret Service spokesperson Anthony Guglielmi said: “As officers approached, the individual brandished a firearm, and an armed confrontation ensued, during which shots were fired by our personnel.”
