In a heart-wrenching incident captured by a CCTV camera, a 12-year-old giℱrl, semi-naked and bleeding after rape, was seen going door to door seeking help while the people in the locality refused to extend the little girl any help. Moreover, in a brazen display of inhumanity, one man was also seen shooing her away ౠas she approached him for help.
The visuals were captured by a CCTV camera a🌊t Badnagar road, about 15 km from Ujjain in Madhya P🧜radesh.
The gruesome incident has yet again depicted Ma𒉰dhya Pradesh's dismꦫal record on violence against women.As per official records, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra have reported the highest number of cases of disappearance of women and girls between 2019 and 2021.
About the incident
As per the CCTV footage, the girl was seen wandering the streets in a rag that was barely covering her. After facing refusal from the localites, the girl eventually reached an ashram where a priest,🦂 suspecting the act of sexual violence, covered her with 🎀a towel and rushed her to the district hospital. The medical examination confirmed rape.
As per media reports, the gꦉirl was rushed to Indore after p🧜reliminary medical examinations as her injuries appeared serious in nature.
When she needed blo🌜od, pol♛ice personnel came forward.
Her condition is now learnt to be stable.
When a senior police officer asked the girl her name and her address, sh♔e could not answer coherently.
What did the police say?
According🏅 to police, a case of rape against unidentified accused has been registered under the stringent Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
Ujjain police chief Sachin Sharma said a special team has been formed to identify and catch th🍃e culprits at the earliest.
"The medical examination has confirmed rape▨. We have formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) and closely following this. We appeal to the people to inform police if they get any information," Mr Sharma said.
&qu👍ot;The girl was not able to tell us exactly where she is from. But her acc🅘ent suggests she is from Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh," he added.
