Indian cricket stalwart Virat Kohli could well play his first Ranji Trophy game in over 12 years, after reportedly making himself available for Delhi's match against Railways scheduled in New Delhi from January 30. (More Cricket News)
เผบThough Kohli will not be part of Delhi's upcoming away encounter against Saurashtra beginning on January 23 owing to a neck sprain, he has told the Delhi and District Cricket Association that he is available for the team's last league match of the Ranji Trophy, according to a PTI report.
๐ธ"Virat has conveyed to DDCA president (Rohan Jaitley) and team management that he is available for the game against Railways," Delhi head coach Sarandeep Singh is quoted as saying in the report.
Kohli thus follows senior pro Rohit Sharma in returning๐ to the Ranji fold after not featuring in it for over a decade. The Board of Control for Cricket in India had evidently made playing domestic cricket mandatory for its contracted cricketers, unless there is an injury, after the crushing Test series loss in Australia.
