England defeated the United States of America (USA) by eight wickets in match 18 of the ICC Women's Under-19 T20 World Cup 2025 at Johor Cricket Academy Oval in Johor, Malaysia on Wednesday, January 22. Read ENG vs USA, Group B match report. (More Cricket News)
ꩲAfter restricting the USA to 119/5 in 20 overs, England chased the target down in 14.2 overs. Opener Davina Sarah T Perrin, who hit nine fours and three sixes in a 45-ball knock, scored more than 80 per cent of the required runs.
♏When the right-handed batter from Wolverhampton left the crease for 74 runs, the equation was two in 24. And England knocked off the target for their second win in three games.
ไAsked to set a target by England captain Katie Jones, the USA rode skipper Anika Kolan's unbeaten 46 off 42 to post what looked like a fighting total. But it eventually proved insufficient against a rampant English side who had defeated Pakistan by six wickets earlier.
꧅With five points, the last edition's losing finalists topped the group, ahead of the USA (three points). The Americans, with rich Indian-origin talent in the ranks, had defeated Ireland following their no result with Pakistan. England and the USA will be joined by either Pakistan or Ireland in the Super Six.
