Amid the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) curbing on the time for families of Indian cricketers, England skipper Jos Buttler has revealed that having families around won't have any effect on cricket, adding that 'it's very manageable'. (1st T20I Streaming | Key Battles | Full Coverage)
“I think it’s important. We live in a day and age now which is a very modern world and it’s great to be able to have families on the tour with you, try to enjoy that. I don’t think it affects the cricket ꦓtoo much and it’s something that is very manageable,” Buttler was quoted speaking at the press conference at Eden Gardens ahead of the 1st T20I scheduled in Kolkata on Wednesday.
♏After a 1-3 loss to Australia Down Under, where India ended up losing the Border Gavaskar Trophy to Australia after 10 years, the apex cricketing board on January 16 put guidelines to India's centrally-contracted players.
One that stood out was that the cricketers' families (partners and children) will be allowed to stay for 14 days, provided an away tour longer than 45 days. India's Test and ODI skipper Rohit Sharma 🃏has already voiced his apprehension with the clause.
💜However, none of the current crop of cricketers have addressed or spoken on this issue directly. India's next tour will kick-start in mid-February when they travel to the UAE for the Champions Trophy. Before that, India are up against England for 5 T20Is and 3 ODIs.
The T20I side will be led by Suryakumar Yadav and the ODIs will be led by Rohit Sharma. Gautam Gambhir will coach both the teams.
