Clashes erupted near Jama Masjid in Madhy﷽a Pradesh's Mhow during a victory rally celebrating the Indian cricket team's win in the ICC Champions Trophy on Sunday.

Following India𝓀's victory against New Zealand as the unbeaten team, a group of young cricket enthusias♓ts organized a rally to celebrate the occasion.

All About The Incident

As per PTI, some individuals from the vicinity started stone pelting when a celebratory rally waܫs passing through the Jama Masjid area in Mhow which later led to clashes between both groups.

Videos posted by PTI several vehicles ge🅷tting vandalized while miscreants 🎐set two vehicles and two shops on fire. Incidents of arson also took place and, according to initial information, some vehicles were damaged.

According to the locals, thꦇe clashes sparked panic in multiple areas of the town. The chaos also forced many of the participants of the rally to abandon their motorcycles 🦂and flee.

Furth🐻er esca🅠lating the tension, some people set fire to a number of abandoned motorcycles. However, local authorities acted swiftly to bring the situation under control.

What Did The Officials Say?

🌺Commenting on the situation, Indore collector Ashish Singh told PTI that the situatꦉion was under control and forces had been deployed in the area.

"How it happened will be ascertained later. As of now, the sit🐈uation is under🥂 control," he said.

Further commenting on the dispute between two parties, Deputy Inspector General of Police Nimish Agarwal told 🐽PTI, "A rally was being taken out in Mhow to celebrate India's Champions Trophy victory."

During this, some people had an altercꦰation that escalated into the two parties pelting each other with stones, he added.

Police sources said Suꦺperintendent of Police (Indore Rural) Hitika Wasal reached Mhow to assess the circumstances firsthand and take necessary measures to restore law and order.

Personnel have been deployed in the affected areas to prevent further vi𓆉olence, the sourꦇces said.
