The left-𝄹back, who can also play on the wing, has put pen to paper on a five-and-a-half-year deal at Old Trafford, where he will wear the number 13 shirt.

Lecce president Sticchi Damiani said the club were "trying to resist" pressure to sell Dorgu during the January tranꦺsfer window, with Man Utd reportedly seeing two bids rejected.

However, the Red Devils have eventually beaten competition from the likes of Juventus to land the signature of the 20-year-old, who ha🍃s made 23 appearances across all competitionꦚs this season - scoring three goals and providing one assist.

Dorgu is the s🥃econd defender to sign for ▨Ruben Amorim's side in as many days, following the signing of 18-year-old Ayden Heaven from Arsenal.

Both players were paraded at Old Trafford ahea﷽d of Man Utd's c🧔lash with Crystal Palace on Sunday.

"I am incredibly proud to be able to call myself a Manchester United player," Dorgu said. "This is a 𝓰very special day for my whole family.

"I cannot wait toꦜ work with Ruben Amorim. His vision for this team and the future of the club is incredibly exciting. There is a clear plan set out for my development, and I feel that Manchester U𓆉nited is the perfect place to fulfil my potential and complete my huge ambitions."

Jason Wilcox, the Red Devils' technical director added: "Patrick is a really exciting talent. His strong defensive and attacking attributes, adaptabilit꧙y and work-🌠rate will make him a key part of Ruben Amorim's squad.

&qu♚ot;Patrick has had a superb start to his career, and at the age of just 20, we know he will continue to develop under the guidance of our excellent coaching team."

Dorgu will likely provide competitꦗion for Diogo Dalot, who has frequently deputised at left wing-back this season in the absence of Luke Sꦡhaw and Tyrell Malacia through injury.

The defender completed a team-high 13 dribbles (level with Nikola Krstovic and Tete Morente) for Lecce in Seri🥃e A, while only Antonino Gallo (26) created more chances than him (19).
