♛NASA astronauts Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore are all set for their return to Earth! After 10 months at the International Space Station, NASA has confirmed that the astronuats are expected back on Earth by March 16, 2025.
ꦿWilliams and Wilmore had embarked on a 10-day mission in June 2024. However, due to technical difficulties with the Boeing Starliner spacecraft, the NASA astronauts have remained stranded for nearly 10 months.
NASA has stated that SpaceX's Crew-10 mission has been cleared for take-off this week. This development also came after US President Donald Trump stated he ordered close advisor and tech mogul Elon Musk to bring the astronauts back.
What We Know About The Return Mission
🍎Crew-10 is scheduled to launch from Kennedy Space Centre in Florida. As per reports, astronauts Anne McClain, Nichole Ayers, Takuya Onishi and Kirill Peskov will be on board the SpaceX spacecraft.
𝔉However, due to the delay in construction of the Crew Dragon spacecraft, the astronauts will fly abroad the Endurance capsule.
ไCrew-10 will launch at 7:48 PM EDT on March 12. Once the crew docks abroad the International Space Station, the handover process will be completed and the four astronauts will begin their return with Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore.
🦩Along with Williams and Wilmore, Russian Cosmonaut Aleksandr Gorbunov will also return.
🦋However, if Crew-10's launch encounters problems or setbacks, Williams and Wilmore's return will once again be delayed.
As per reports, NASA 𒊎has kept backup launch windows for March 13 at 7:35 PM and March 14 at 7:04 PM, which could shift Crew-9's return to either March 17 or 18.
