Prime Minister Narendra Modi has begun his two-day visit to Maur𒆙itius. The Indian leader received a warm welcome at Port Louis by his Mauritia❀n counterpart Dr. Navinchandra Ramgoolam and the Indian diaspora.
During his visit to the close maritime partner na꧙tion, PM Modi will also attend the island nation's 57th Nationඣal Day celebrations as the guest of honour.

The prime minister is on a visit to Mauritius at the invitation of PM Navin 🌄Ramgoolam. During hi🔜s visit to the country, Modi will oversee the signing of multiple agreements aimed at strengthening cooperation in capacity building, trade, and efforts to combat cross-border financial crimes.
During this visit to "Mini India", M🌃odi will also inaugurate two key projects - the civil service college and an area health centre - both🦩 which have been built with India's assistance.
The senior BJP leader will also attend the 57th National Day celebrations as the Chief Guest. A contingent of the Indian Army will be participating in the celebrations, along with an Indian Navy warship and the Akash Ganga sk💫ydiving team of the Indian Air Force.
Ahead of his visit, India announced its support for the island nation's efforts to reach a deal with the UK regarding the sovereiꦜgnty of the Chagos Islands.
This will be Modi's third visit to Mauritius. The first time was in 1998, as the BJP National General Secretary to address the International Ramayana Conference in Moka. The second time was in 2015 as the Prime Minister after the SAGA♔R doctrine - India's maritime cooperation in the Indian Ocean - was announced.
